- DO remove all heavy accessories like jewelry, watches, and jackets.
- DO use the restroom just before.
- DON’T eat or exercise for at least 3 hours prior.
- DON’T consume alcohol or excess caffeine for at least 24 hours.
- DON’T use lotion or ointment on your hands and feet.

Medications
Phentermine- Phentermine has a long successful history in weight loss and has been prescribe for weight loss since the 1960's. It works as a central nervous system stimulant and is thought to decrease ones appetite by releasing neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine.
Buproprion/Naltrexone- Combination medication which focuses on appetite suppression and behavioral modification. Buproprion works to help decrease appetite while naltrexone works to decrease cravings and emotional connections to food.
Phentermine/topiramate - Combination medication with lower dose of phentermine and an extended released form of topiramate which is another medication found to lead to weight loss.
GLP-1 Agonists- Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Agonists are a class of medications mostly used for type 2 diabetes mellitus but also found to lead to significant weight loss.
They have been very popular in main stream media and social networking platforms due to widespread posting and sharing of weight loss results. However, there are only two GLP-1 medications currently approved for weight loss: liraglutide and sumaglutide.
GLP-1 medications are Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 receptor agonist and mimic the effects of the gastrointestinal hormone GLP-1.
They increase insulin secretion, slow gastric emptying, and decrease hunger which all lead to effective weight loss.
Semaglutide 2.4mg and liraglutide given once weekly by subcutaneous injection are currently FDA approved for the management of Obese and overweight patients with at least one other qualifying medical condition.
